PROCESS

Stenciled Wallpaper

Stenciled Wallpaper

Wallpaper has been broken down into 12 stencils, bridged, and outlined in Photoshop. Then printed, pounced, and cut out of prepped stencil paper. In photograph, stencil #1 is being placed and color rolled on with a sponge roller.

Stencil

Stencil

Stencil #5 has just been placed and rolled (light pink color) after leaves have been completed to ensure that flowers appear on top of leaves inspite of any misalignment in stencils.

Stencil #9 is being placed and rolled with 2 colors. This is an example on how 2 steps have been combined to save time and resources.

After wet-blending 2 base colors, 3 washes were used to define the different shades of red in the velvet. Then extensive masking was done for the gold embroidery.
